Review of Mental Health (Secure Facilities) Act 2016

This review focused on the operations of the Act, distinct from the operations of Dhulwa, ACT’s secure mental health facility. However, given the extent of the feedback from stakeholder on the operations of Dhulwa and associated observations, this additional feedback was provided. A desktop review of the legislation and all associated artefacts was undertaken. Site visits were conducted with ACT Health and CHS Executives and to inform knowledge. Stakeholder feedback was captured via community consultation, forums, staff walk abouts, stakeholder interviews and written feedback. The review findings and recommendations are to be considered at Legislative Assembly.
